History of McLaren
McLaren Automotive is a British car manufacturing company based in Woking, Surrey, U.K. McLaren was founded by Bruce McLaren, who was born in 1937 in Auckland, New Zealand. Bruce started his storied career at the young age of 15, showing potential as both an engineer and race car driver when he entered and won a local hill climb using an Austin 7 Ulster. From early on, his racing career became a great success. At 22 years old, Bruce won the 1959 U.S. Grand Prix, making him the youngest Grand Prix winner at that time. In 1963 he created "Bruce McLaren Motor Racing”, as a way of developing and racing sports cars. Sadly, McLaren died in a car accident in 1970, but he left a tremendous legacy to the world of racing and McLaren supercars.
